These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the WasteNot mobile application (the “App”) and the website located at https://wastenot.site (the “Site”), collectively referred to as the “Services”, operated by [Your Full Name / Company Name] (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have parental or legal guardian consent to use the Services.

2. Account and Security

  • You may use the App anonymously or sign in with Google.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities under your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for any violation of these Terms.

3. License to Use the Services

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload or create in the App (e.g., photos of food items, notes, donated item descriptions — “User Content”).

By uploading User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes, e.g., compression), display, and distribute it solely to provide and improve the Services.

You represent that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with all applicable laws.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers/networks
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services
  • Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate others
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Services
  • Post obscene, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content in the donate/share feature
  • Circumvent or tamper with usage limits, ads, or subscription mechanisms

6. Third-Party Services

The Services integrate with third-party providers including:

  • Google (Firebase, Gemini API, AdMob)
  • RevenueCat (in-app purchases)
  • Apple App Store and Google Play

Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their actions or content.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

  • Premium subscriptions are processed via Apple App Store or Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat.
  • Prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region/currency.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store / Google Play account settings.
  • No refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
  • We may change prices with notice (via in-app message or App Store update).

8. Intellectual Property

The Services (code, design, text, graphics, AI-generated recipe layouts, trademarks, logos) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works except as expressly permitted.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy of AI-generated recipes, food safety, allergen information, or fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or virus-free.

AI-generated recipes are suggestions only. Always check ingredients for allergies, proper cooking temperatures, and food safety. We are not responsible for any illness, injury, or damage arising from use of the App or its suggestions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (or $100 if no payment was made).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately. Sections that by nature should survive (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction — e.g., “the State of Delaware, United States” or “England and Wales” or “the laws of Pakistan excluding conflict of laws principles”].
