Smart Shopping Calculations & Accuracy Disclaimer
WasteNot's shopping list and savings calculation features use estimated shelf-life data, historical usage patterns, and AI-driven demand forecasting to suggest what to buy, how much to buy, and when to buy it. These suggestions are estimates only and are provided for informational and convenience purposes. WasteNot does not guarantee: the accuracy of AI-generated shelf-life estimates; savings projections or household budget figures; the availability or pricing of items at any specific retailer; or the completeness of product databases. You should use your own judgement when making grocery and food safety decisions. WasteNot is not liable for any financial loss, foodborne illness, or other harm arising from reliance on shopping or freshness recommendations.
Donation Feature & Liability Safeguards
4.1 Nature of the Donation Service
WasteNot's "Share a Meal" donation feature is a logistics-matching service only. It connects users who wish to donate food items with independently operated, verified food banks, community refrigerators, and charitable food organisations ("Donation Partners"). WasteNot does not take physical possession of any donated food, does not inspect or verify the quality or safety of donated items, and is not a party to any transaction between you and a Donation Partner.
4.2 Donor Responsibilities
By initiating a donation you represent and warrant that: (a) all donated items are within their stated expiry date and are fit for human consumption; (b) items are properly sealed, labelled, and free from contamination; (c) you have the legal right to donate the items; and (d) you are acting in good faith and in compliance with all applicable local food donation laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act and any equivalent local legislation.
4.3 Limitation of Liability for Donations
WasteNot provides the donation matching service "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, WasteNot expressly disclaims any liability for: foodborne illness or injury arising from donated items; the actions, omissions, or negligence of Donation Partners; failure of Donation Partners to accept or collect donations; and any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the donation feature. Nothing in this clause limits WasteNot's liability for death or personal injury caused by its own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
4.4 Donation Partner Vetting
WasteNot makes reasonable efforts to verify that Donation Partners are registered charities or recognised community food programmes. However, listing in the app does not constitute endorsement. WasteNot reserves the right to remove any Donation Partner at its sole discretion.
